Welcome to Swim Across America's Long Island Sound Events: The Long Island Sound open water swim, and Long Island Pool Swims. Long Island Sound events are the most sucessful in SAA history! Every year hundreds of swimmers, dozens of volunteers and thousands of donors grow this event to reach unimaginable success. The Long Island Sound (LIS)  events have their own unique personality with the Long Island Sound open water swim as the celebrity. Last year, LIS included over 600 swimmers and raised over $925,000. Many LIS participants have been involved with the event for years making the swim something of an extremely large community that always welcomes new members.
