Why You Should Support Us
On July 11, 2008 I will part of a 22–mile relay team that will swim from Rowes Wharf in downtown Boston, out among the Boston Harbor Islands and finish back at Rowes Wharf. I need your help!
The Caring for Carcinoid Foundation (CFCF) is unique in that 100% of all money raised by the foundation goes directly to research and not a single dollar is used for overhead expenses.
Carcinoid cancer is the term used to refer to tumors that originate in the nerve cells that produce hormones, also knows as the neuroendocrine system.
CFCF is the leading nonprofit dedicated to discovering a cure for carcinoid cancer. The vision of CFCF is to eliminate the suffering of patients, families and caregivers affected by carcinoid and related neuroendocrine tumors. The mission of CFCF is to discover a cure for carcinoid. For more information please visit http://www.caringforcarcinoid.org
You have the chance to help others bring the cure closer and support me in my swimming efforts with a donation. If you can help, please send in your tax-deductible contribution as soon as possible.
If you're unable to help, I always welcome your good wishes and positive thoughts to help with my training to finish the swim.

About Swim Across America
Swim Across America, Inc., [SAA] is dedicated to raising money and awareness for cancer research, prevention and treatment through swimming- related events. With the help of hundreds of volunteers nationwide and past and current Olympians, SAA is helping find a cure for cancer through athleticism, community outreach and direct service. Since its inception in 1987, SAA has raised over $20 million nationally for recognized beneficiaries. The beneficiaries we support are closely tied to the communities that are currently hosting events - New York, Boston, San Francisco and Chicago. This is a charitable event that helps raise money for the Perini Quality of Life Clinic at Dana Farber Cancer Center. The Clinic was founded by David and Eileen Perini (in memory of their son), and its primary mission is to improve the quality of life for cancer patients and cancer survivors. This is a broad mandate that among many other things includes addressing the long-term effects of treatment, the risk of second cancers and the complex social and psychological issues associated with the disease. It is a terrific event for an organization that provides an essential service for cancer patients and their families. We welcome your contributions and thank you for joining us in this fight.
