On August 14th, 2010 I will be participating in a 1-mile/5K/10K swim at Morgan Park in Glen Cove, NY to raise money for cancer research and treatment priorities.

Like many of the other participants, I am swimming in the memory of several friends and relatives lost to this terrible disease.

My swimming and fundraising efforts are nothing compared to the struggle cancer patients face every day. With your help, we have the chance to bring the cure closer.

The proceeds of our SWIMS will support cancer research at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center-SAA Laboratory, the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore, and the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. Also, we are supporting Fighting Chance, a free Cancer Resource and Counseling Center in Sag Harbor, N.Y. and the MIRACLE Pavilion at Mercy Medical Center in Rockville Centre, N.Y.
