“Until there is a cure for cancer, there will always be a reason to swim all across America.” - Matt Vossler, Co-Founder, SAA
On August 15, 2009, I will be participating in a 10 Kilometer (that's 6.2 miles!)swim across the Long Island Sound from Larchmont to Morgan Park in Glen Cove, NY to raise money for cancer research and treatment priorities.
Like many of the other participants, I am swimming in memory of several friends and relatives lost to this terrible disease, as well as in honor of those fighting it now.
My swimming and fundraising efforts are nothing compared to the struggle cancer patients face every day. With your help, we have the chance to bring the cure closer.
In 2009 the proceeds of my swim will support cancer research at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center-SAA Laboratory, the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore, and the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. Also, we are supporting Fighting Chance, a free Cancer Resource and Counseling Center in Sag Harbor, NY and the MIRACLE Pavilion at Mercy Medical Center in Rockville Centre, NY. If you can help, you can make your donation online via the attached link, or you can send your tax-deductible contribution directly to me as soon as possible. I thank you for your generous support of this very worthy cause.
Best Regards,
John
