The funds raised by the Nantucket Island Swim will go to fund Swim Across America in their efforts to "Make Waves to Fight Cancer." A portion of the proceeds from the swim will go towards fighting cancer on Nantucket Island through Nantucket Cottage Hospital and Palliative and Supportive Care of Nantucket (PASCON). Perhaps the most exciting part of this year’s event is its refined and exciting purpose for Nantucket. The net proceeds of our Swim will directly improve and expand cancer care services on-island. With our support, Nantucket Cottage Hospital (NCH) will expand its Oncology & Patient Services to provide regularly visiting, world-class oncologists from Massachusetts General Hospital, a nurse practitioner, and state of the art treatment and patient care.  Palliative and Supportive Care of Nantucket (PASCON) will develop a designated Cancer Support Program providing patient navigator services and supportive survivorship services for patients with any stage of cancer.  Through the efforts of these organizations along with the support of Swim Across America – Nantucket, residents and visitors alike who are dealing with cancer can receive outstanding treatment and support here on island.
