The Gwinnett County Swim League is excited to be forming a team to participate in Swim Across America at Lake Lanier this fall to benefit Children's Healthcare of Atlanta's AFLAC cancer and blood disorder center. What better way to come together as one team across the county, catch up with your summer friends doing what we love, SWIMMING, for other kids in our community battling cancer and blood disorders!! No matter what division your team is in or what neighborhood pool you swim for we want all GCSL swimmers of all ages to come to this exciting event! Did you know that less than 4% of national cancer research funds are allotted to pediatric cancer...even though pediatric cancer is the #1 illness that children die from? We feel that kids with cancer deserve MORE than FOUR!
This year we are swimming in honor of our very own GCSL Hanarry West swimmer, Kyle Klerk! Kyle was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, treated at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and is now in remission! He has signed up this year to be a volunteer to give back to other children battling cancer and his sister is swimming in honor of him! Who do you swim for?
You can make a credit card donation by clicking on one of the members of our team below, or send a check to Swim Across America, c/o Nancy Peek, PO Box 1078, Tucker, GA 30085.
