I am proud to participate in this incredible fund raising event for the second time. I swim for my long time friend, former University of Maine team mate and Masters swimmer, Ed Colbert. Ed had been a participant in this event over the last 10 years, Swim Across America was one of ED's many charatable events he participated in. In July of 2015, Ed was diagnosed with Gliblastoma, a very invasive form of brain cancer. Ed, unfortunatly lost his battle in October of 2016, but his strength and positive attitiude was inspirational for his children, family and friends that supported him.
In our lifetime, 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer. I joined the SAA community so that, together, we can change that. I am challenging myself by swimming in the Boston Harbor Swim and raising as much money to fight cancer as I can. Please support me by sponsoring my swim and making a gift. The money you give will go towards cancer research, prevention and treatment and will make an impact in the fight to find a cure. Thank you for your generosity and may it lead to a cancer-free world!
