This is the fifth year that Gotham SC is swimming the SAA Boston Harbor Swim. Swimming for SAA is personal to each one of us as cancer has impacted us and our families. In addition to many family members and friends who have been affected by cancer, we are swimming this year in memory of Robin Metro, Harold Safalow, Rob Lamolinara, Jamie Gilder, Jon Di Virgilio, and Maggie Burke; and we are swimming in honor of Rowena Kam-Bergman, Alipio "Al" Colon, Lisa Kalish, Frank Manning, Lee Martin and Casey Sonke, who are fighting their battle right now; and for Alecia Farley and Jackie Hickson, who are cancer survivors! We are also swimming to support everyone who continues to struggle with this disease and hope our efforts and fundraising will lead to better treatments for future generations and, ultimately, a cure. Our current team comprised of David Henry, Cody Jones, Brad Safalow and Joshua Safalow. We look forward to another day of camaraderie with all swimmers and the SAA team…and looking forward to warm waters!
Swim Across America, Inc., [SAA] is dedicated to raising money and awareness for cancer research, prevention and treatment through swimming- related events. With the help of hundreds of volunteers nationwide and past and current Olympians, SAA is helping find a cure for cancer through athleticism, community outreach and direct service.
