Everybody has been touched by cancer, and has their stories of how it has impacted them and those they love. Cancer got the best of my oldest sister when she was 12, my little sister when she was 36, and my mom way too young. In our lifetime, 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer. I am doing this swim to raise money to help change these statistics.
I will be swimming for the second time in the Swim Across Lake Michigan Challenge and raising as much money to fight cancer as I can. It is a 45 mile relay that takes about 24 hours to complete. We will leave from downtown Chicago on the evening of August 18th, and swim across the lake to the beautiful beaches of Michigan, landing on the 19th! I grew up swimming in Lake Michigan, was a lifeguard on the lake in high school, and we own a home on the other side of the lake very close to the finish. I am very excited to be in a position to do this again on what I consider my home turf. I would like to solicit your support.
Please concider sponsoring my swim and making a gift. The money you give will go towards cancer research, prevention and treatment and will make an impact in the fight to find a cure. Thank you for your generosity and may it lead to a cancer-free world!
