Valentine Boys & Girls Club Swimmers will band together to Make Waves in the Fight Against Cancer

Valentine Aquatics

In our lifetime, 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer. We joined the SAA community so that, together, we can change that. We are challenging ourselves by swimming in the Chicago Open Water Swim and raising as much money to fight cancer as we can. Please support us by sponsoring our swim and making a gift.

Earlier this year Zion Spencer, a long time member of the Valentine Boys & Gilrs Club, was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma.  Osteosarcoma is the most common form of bone cancer and usually affects teenagers and young adults.  It weakens the bones, causing pain and allowing the cancer to spread to other parts of the body.  Before his diagnosis Zion was an active teenager and avid basketball player.  We are joining Zion in his fight by swimming and doing our best to raise as much money as possible.  The money you give will go towards cancer research, prevention and treatment and will make an impact in the fight to find a cure.  Thank you for your generosity and may it lead to a cancer-free world!

You can make a credit card donation by clicking on one of the members of our team below, or send a check to Swim Across America, 47 West Polk Street, Suite 100-561, Chicago, IL 60605.Checks should be made out to Swim Across America but please include a note mentioning the swimmer you are supporting!
