Dallas Open Water Swim

Saturday, May 30, 2015

Welcome to the Swim Across America - Dallas Open Water Swim.  Swimmers of all ages are invited to take part in our 5th annual event in beautiful Lake Ray Hubbard where we have raised $1.4 million to date. Whether you are a veteran swimmer or you're looking to do your first open water swim, we welcome you to help us fight cancer for the Swim Across America Innovative Clinical Trials Center at Baylor Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center!

All swimmers raise money to support the cause, and those who feel particularly motivated to raise even more, can register as WaveMaker Swimmers.  We welcome you to help us "Make Waves to Fight Cancer!"

General Information

Be a WaveMaker Swimmer:

WaveMakers are elite SAA fundraisers. All swimmers raise at least $500, but WaveMakers (WM) go above and beyond the call of duty by pledging to raise at least $1000. You can sign up to be a WaveMaker when you register but, even if you don't, you will automatically become one when you hit the $1000 mark. WMs get an exclusive WM dry fit shirt, worn by all SAA WaveMakers across the country. They also get access to the WM village on event day where they will have access to other perks and swag. Click here for more information.

Swim as an Individual, or on a Team

A person may elect to swim alone, or be part of a team. Many colleagues and college alumni will form teams, or teams may be formed in honor or memory of a loved one.  All teams are inspirational and rewarding for all of us involved with Swim Across America.  Teams must have a minimum of 3 swimmers and each swimmer is still required to meet the individual fundraising minimum of $500 ($200 if under 18).

Fundraising Requirements for Everyone

All swimmers are required to raise at least $500 by event day.  Swimmers under 18 are required to raise $200 by event day.

Distance Options

  • 1/2 Mile
  • 1 Mile
  • 2.4 Mile

Registrations Fees

There is a registration fee that will be credited towards each swimmer's fundraising minimum after registering. The registration fee will change as follows:

  • Register before March 1st with a registration fee of $25
  • Register between March 1st and April 15th with a registration fee of $50
  • Register on or after April 15th with a registration fee of $75

NOTE: If registering multiple people, you will be able to use the same email address for as many people as you would like.  However, each person will need to have their own username and password to be able to login to their participant center. If you are having trouble registering a second person to swim, make sure you are logged out in the upper right hand corner of the website before beginning the registration process again.

Bring a Friend, Get Rewarded

Ask someone to join you for this year's open water swim and make sure they enter your name during the registration process. We'll give you both a Swim Across America baseball hat at the event if you reach the $500 minimum. Swimming is more fun with a friend by your side!

Giving

All donations are tax-deductible and proceeds will go to the newly named Swim Across America Clinical Trials Center at Baylor Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center.

You may support the swimmer of your choice by making an online donation. Or you may send a check, payable to Swim Across America, to the address below.
