On September 30th, 2017 I'll swim three miles with Team Mustang in Lake Ray Hubbard with hundreds of other swimmers to raise money for the Innovative Clinical Trials Center inside Baylor Cancer Center, the organization that treated me for cancer.
100% of the money raised directly affects cancer treatment and research.
At the end of 1999, the team at Baylor Sammons Cancer Center in Dallas found a 10 centimeter tumor in my chest after another medical organization misdiagnosed it as asthma. For the next four months, the doctors at Baylor successfully treated me with chemo and radiation and I have been in remission since March 2000.
Baylor saved my life 17 years ago and their treatments, today developed through the Innovative Clinical Trials Center, reach people around the world.
This year, I met a pancreatic cancer patient who was given six months to live. As part of a clinical trial at Baylor funded by the $2.1M that SAA Dallas has raised since 2011, Pat is alive two years later.
This is why I swim.
If you can, would you consider helping in the fight against cancer now?
