Team Poppy

Team Poppy was formed in 2006 when Tom Ahern Sr was diagnosed with primary central nervous system lymphoma. He had been cancer free for the last ten years because of the great doctors and nurses at Sloan Kettering but was diagnosed with colon cancer a few months ago. He underwent surgery April 26 at MSK and it wasn't long before he was back at the gym. His good fortune continues and he does not require treatment beyond surgery.

We started swimming to give back to the hospital that saved his life but with good friends and family being diagnosed with this disease every year, we swim now to find a cure.

You can make a credit card donation by clicking on one of the members of our team below, or send a check to Swim Across America, If you choose to send a check, please make sure to reference Team Poppy on it.

Thank you for your continued support!!
