Welcome to the annual Swim Across America, Sound to Cove Open Water Swim. Whether you are a returning swimmer or looking to do your first Open Water swim, we welcome you to our Swim Across America family!
8/5 Update: We are a GO for the swim tomorrow!
All swimmers raise money to support the cause, and those who feel particularly motivated to raise even more, can register as WaveMaker Swimmers. We welcome you to help us "Make Waves to Fight Cancer!"
Thank you to our generous Nassau-Suffolk sponsors for their support in our fight against cancer.

WaveMakers are elite SAA fundraisers. All swimmers raise at least $250 (fundraising minimums vary per distance - see swimmer requirements tab), but WaveMakers (WM) go above and beyond the call of duty by pledging to raise at least $1000. You can sign up to be a WaveMaker when you register but, even if you don't, you will automatically become one when you hit the $1000 mark. WMs get an exclusive WM dry fit shirt, worn by all SAA WaveMakers across the country. They also get access to the WM village on event day where they will have access to other perks and swag. Click here for more information.
A person may elect to swim alone, or be part of a team. Many colleagues and college alumni will form teams, or teams may be formed in honor or memory of a loved one. All teams are inspirational and rewarding for all of us involved with Swim Across America. Click here for the 2016 Sound to Cove Swimmer Packet!
Volunteers are the glue that holds our event together! If you are looking to get involved in our swim event but aren't quite ready to jump in the water, this is your way in. We always need land volunteers and kayakers (must bring own kayak). To join us as a volunteer you can either Register as an Individual on this page and then choose your volunteer type or "Join an Existing Team." Either one of these options will register you to be a volunteer. If you would like to volunteer as part of another team, you can do that as well, just search for that team under "Join an Existing Team."
Are you a student looking to fulfill your community service hours? Volunteer at the SAA Swim! The event director can provide you a letter upon request that states that you completed hours. He can be reached via email at Kevin@swimacrossamerica.org
In the event that the weather prevents us from holding the event in Glen Cove on August 8th, the swim will be relocated to the Nassau County Aquatic Center from 7AM (Registration) to 11AM. We will update the website and send an email to all participants at approximately 9pm on Friday, August 7th if that is the case. Please check the Swim Across America website's Sound to Cove Event Page on Friday August 7th, after 9pm to check on the status of the swim. We will post any changes to event start time, weather delays or cancelation, etc. at that time.
For directions to the Nassau County Aquatic Center, you can use Google Maps: Merrick Ave, East Meadow, NY 11554

SAA offers two different TEAM fundraising levels. By raising more funds, you'll receive more benefits!
When registering a TEAM, you must commit to raise at least $2,500. You can upgrade to the next level as you fundraise more.
The registration fee will increase as the event gets closer so register early! Note: the registration fee will count towards your fundraising minimum and is fully tax deductible. Here is the fee schedule, as the fee will increase as we get closer to the event date:
