On August 5th 2017, I am swimming my third open water 10k swim in the Long Island Sound for Swim Across America "Sound to Cove Swim". Thank you all for your support of my prior swims. Swim Across America Nassau-Suffolk has raised >$8MM since our start in 2001 through your generosity.
Cancer is very personal. We all know someone close to us that has been impacted by this terrible disease. I have lost two cousins to Cancer well before their time: Angela at 36, Carol at 55 as well my Aunt Viola and Grandmother Lucia both before 70. I have three close relatives now fighting this terrible disease.
Every 15 minutes, 50 Americans are diagnosed with cancer. In our lifetime, 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer. 100,000 New Yorkes every year are diagnosed with cancer. I joined the SAA community so that, together, we can do our part to help those in need.
Please help us join the fight by sponsoring my swim and making a donation. Thank you to your employers for their matching gift donations as well. The money you give will go towards cancer research, prevention and treatment and will make an impact in the fight to find a cure. Thank you for your generosity and may it lead to a cancer-free world!
You can make a credit card donation here, or send a check to Swim Across America, c/o Charles A Barragato Co, Attn: Angelo Pirozzi, 950 Third Ave, 20th Floor, New York, NY 10022
Please donate what you can. I thank you for your generosity.
