Although I’ve been taking a break from my triathlon life due to a back & hip injury, I’m thrilled to share that I have committed to joining my 6th Swim Across America this year!
This year’s swim is particularly special for me for multiple reasons...
I first joined this swim because I wanted to honor my mother and dedicate my athletic abilities to raise money for cancer research that could help other families in the future.
This year, the San Francisco swim happens to be on my mother’s birthday! She would have been 65 this year, but I lost her far too early to cancer. I still miss her every day.
As a bonus incentive, my fiancée surprised me on my birthday this year by signing up to swim alongside me — a request I’ve made every year since I’ve met her.
Together, we’re hoping to dedicate our swim to friends & family who have been impacted by cancer.
Let’s break some waves together!
