Dear family, friends and colleagues,
I'm thrilled to let you know that I am re-joining Swim Across America for the third consecutive year to help fundraise for cancer research. Many of the beneficiaries are hospitals and cancer research centers in our very own communities, including UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital and Children's Hospital Oakland Research Institute. Each year, these children provide us with incredible support and inspiration for fundraising and diving into the cold water. The bond we create has such a strong radiant effect and I am very grateful to be part of it.
Among all the races/tours I participate each season, this swim is by far the one I look forward to the most. The swim is an approximately 1.5-mile open water swim, starting from bottom of the Golden Gate Bridge and return to shore at Crissy field beach.
I have committed a small amount towards my fundraising goal for this year. With your help, I can be more confident in this open water swim knowing that I have you, all of the SAA swimmers, Olympians, and all of the cancer fighters and their families by my side supporting me. Your generous donation is greatly appreciated and any amount--large or small--can make a significant impact in advancing cancer research.
Lastly, I Hope that one day you would join me in swimming at this event. The story sharing segment of the boat ride is a true gift in life. I look forward to be able to start my own team one year and show you the inspiration provided by SAA. Please feel free to contact me if you are interested in riding the boat with us and sharing your story. No swimming required.
Below is a short message from SAA:
In our lifetime, 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer. I joined the SAA community so that, together, we can change that. I am challenging myself by swimming in the San Francisco Bay Swim and raising as much money to fight cancer as I can. Please support me by sponsoring my swim and making a gift. The money you give will go towards cancer research, prevention and treatment and will make an impact in the fight to find a cure. Thank you for your generosity and may it lead to a cancer-free world!
You can make a credit card donation here, or send a check to Swim Across America, 1684 8th Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94122.
