Again this year my brother Steve will participate in the San Francisco Bay Area Swim Across America. In past years he has been joined by my younger brother Dave my nephews Nick and Jake and my sister-in-law Joanie. Over the years, and with your help, Steve and the family have raised thousands and thousands of dollars to support cancer research, prevention and treatment. This year the San Francisco Swim proceeds will again fund two programs at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals: the breakthrough Survivors of Childhood Cancer program at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital San Francisco and the innovative cancer research programs at Swim Across America Laboratory for Pediatric Cancer Resarch at Children’s Hospital Research Institute Oakland.
Please help Steve and me in our ongoing family tradition to ensure critical funding for these programs. I’ll travel to the bay area once again and help provide for the massive shore side support effort with my sister-in-law Janis to ensure the event swimmers have a safe day on the water. I invite you to learn more about this fantastic program and get inspired by my brother’s participation. I'll be traveling to the Bay Area at the end of the month to cheer them both on as they both swim under the Golden Gate Bridge for Team Susan Survives! I couldn't be more proud of my brother. Last year you helped my nephews learn about compassion, generosity, and working together for a larger goal than any one of us can complete alone. I would be honored if you once again help out this year.
