San Francisco Bay Open Water Swim

team purplepatch

Welcome to the team purplepatch page, supporting the Swim Across America Bay Swim on September 17th!

So often, it can be difficult to see how you can make a direct impact when supporting charities. SAA is different - your participation supports two local beneficiaries:

*UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland Research Institute

*UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital San Francisco Survivors of Childhood Cancer Program

Last year SAA gifted over $550K, funding these resources entirely!

This year, SAA has the goal of $700K and we have set our team bar at $20K and have every confidence we can achieve that!

We hope you'll join us in one of two ways:

*Sign up to swim with us & choose between a 1.75 mi or 0.75 mi swim, starting from under the Golden Gate Bridge. We'll be following the current, so this might be the fastest swim of your life :)

*Or, Make a donation to our team here on this page

For those who have participated, you will know that this swim is a heartwarming, heart-wrenching and incredibly touching and meaningful experience.  Aside from the amazing adventure that is swimming from under the Golden Gate Bridge to the Shores of Chrissy Field, participation means getting to take a boat ride and watch the sun rise over the City and Bay while listening to current cancer patients, cancer survivors and those impacted by the disease tell their stories of triumph and struggle.  It is a truly moving experience.

As your Team Captains, we say many thanks for your support!

Sarah Piampiano & Naomi Fliflet
