Swim Across America's 2017 San Francisco
Bay Open-Water Swim!....
We are Amy Stephens and Elijah Chen
and we are the
FOG CITY WARRIORS!
Mom and son are teaming up to fight cancer...
On Sept.17th, Amy and Elijah will swim the 1.75-mile route from underneath Golden Gate bridge all the way to the Marina, braving the frigid SF bay waters in wetsuits and hopefully avoiding any irritable sea life :) Amy swam this event the past two years and knows just how unpredictable the bay waters can be....
This is Elijah's first year for this event. Now age 15 and a sophomore in high school, he is quite the strapping young swimmer!
All funds raised for this open-water swim will go directly to UCSF Benioff hospital and Oakland Children's hospital pediatric cancer research labs, where amazing doctors and scientists continue their ground-breaking research and patient care. Our goal as FOG CITY WARRIORS is to raise $2000, and we're excited about how those funds will bless many children fighting cancer.
Amy and Elijah are swimming in honor of a very close relative currently fighting lung cancer and a dear friend who lost his battle with brain cancer just a few months ago. We've witnessed the ravages of cancer first-hand. We hope you'll join us in the effort toward a cancer-free world!
With lots of love, Amy and Elijah
