It is Senior year and we are deep into college applications and test prep over here at the Martin house. We are busy and loving every minute of it.
While this is a milestone year for every household, it is moments like this that truly make us pause and realize how tremendously lucky our family is. In the 10 years we have been involved with Swim Across America we have seen the cure rate for pediatric cancer sky rocket. Even treatments in Wilm's tumor, which is what Grant had, have gone through major changes. All treatments have become less toxic and more effective. Cancers that were once hard to beat are now easily treated. We are on the verge of having treatments and cures for most cancers.
So with the thought of how far we have come, and how much farther we can go, I will once again jump in the bay as part of Team Grant. This is our Victory Tour. Our swan song. Our farewell performance. Our final adieu. This is where we ride off into the sunset to happily ever after.
I would so appreciate your support of my swim this one last time. Together we can make sure that we will soon see the day when all pediatric cancers are curable
Thank you so much for your support now and through these past 10 years. We could not have gotten here without you.
