Welcome to the Swim Across America - Seattle Open Water Swim. Swimmers of all ages are invited to take part in our annual event in beautiful Lake Washington. Whether you are a veteran swimmer or you're looking to do your first open water swim, we welcome you to help us fight cancer at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. Click here to read more about this year's event in our journal.

All swimmers raise money to support the cause, and those who feel particularly motivated to raise even more, can register as WaveMaker Swimmers. We welcome you to help us "Make Waves to Fight Cancer!"

Safety

Swim Across America makes swimmer safety the most important component of all our swimming events. Our Safety Director is responsible for coordinating all activities within the event, and will work closely with both local Police and Coast Guard representatives to ensure swimmer safety. We will have the Mercer Island Police Marine Patrol out on the course with us, as well as a number of lifeguards, safety kayakers and safety boats to ensure swimmer safety at all times. All boats will be able to communicate via both hand held and ship to shore radios. All swimmers are required to follow specific procedures to participate in the event. These procedures are designed to protect swimmers from injury and will be enforced by the event’s Safety Director.
