In our lifetime, 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer. I think I am ahead of the curve in knowing people who have been diagnosed with this disease. Family members, friends, coworkers, acquaintences...all levels of people i know have been impacted. The Blue Mustache Team was formed in honor of them, and was inspired by my friend's son's story. Corbin, at age 11, has been diagnosed with Metastatic Melanoma. While things are progressing remarkably well for him given the nature of this particular disease, he's not out of the woods yet. Corbin is fortunate enough to be getting his treatment from our benefactors, Moffitt, and specifically Dr. Reed, among others. You can follow his progress here:
His mother and father have both been affected with cancer as well.
I joined the SAA community so that, together, we can change that. I am challenging myself by paritipating through volunteering in the Tampa Bay Open Water Swim and raising as much money to fight cancer as I can. Please support me by sponsoring my swim and making a gift. The money you give will go towards cancer research, prevention and treatment and will make an impact in the fight to find a cure. Thank you for your generosity and may it lead to a cancer-free world!
