However, this year, I have decided to dedicate the half mile I am swimming to two people whom I miss very much.
My good friend and teacher for many years, Mrs. Anne Palmieri. Although she had showed cancer exactly what it meant to kick ass and take names on more than one occasion, she just recently lost her battle. She was an incredibley smart, unfailingly kind, and devilishly funny woman.
And my friend, classmate, and boss, John Crimmins. John worked at Lake Isle with me and was the one who had encouraged me to swim in my first Swim Across America event. He was the nicest guy with a great sense of humor. This past 4th of July marked the second anniversary of his death, and I truly miss him. He loved this event, so this is for him.

Check should be made out to Swim Across America but please include a note mentioning my name as the swimmer you are supporting!
