Dear Family and Friends,
I am swimming for Swim Across America on Feb 22 and ask for your support. An estimated 40% of Americans will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in their lifetime. Meanwhile, National Cancer Institute funding for investigative research and clinical trials has decreased 25% in the past 10 years. The Ranney School benefit pool swim event is important because it raises dollars that are invested into early stage cancer research and clinical trials. The reserachers we are funding are in our community and are the next generation of cancer pioneers. Without Swim Across America's early stage funding, they are not able to conduct trials that can lead to breakthroughs that can save lives.
My grandmother lost her fight against gall bladder cancer last year. She was deeply involved and a strong supporter of my swim. Your donation will be in loving memory of my grandmother and will go towards cancer research, prevention and treatment which will help make an impact in the fight to find a cure.
Thank you for your support and generosity as we "Make Waves to Defeat Cancer"
