Raising money to fight cancer is the mission of all our swimmers. You serve as inspiration for a swimmer or team by donating to help them reach their goal. Thank you for helping us ‘Make Waves to Fight Cancer.’
Support a swimmer, team, charity swim or Swim Across America by making a donation online. Our donation forms support giving via credit card, automatic bank draft, or PayPal account.

Please include a note mentioning the swimmer, team or charity swim you would like your donation to support, so that we can be sure they receive the proper fundraising credit.

Monthly donations are an ideal way to make a contribution while spreading it out over a designated period of time. Select the sustaining gift option when giving online and you can choose to set up your recurring donation for as many months as you choose. Your specified monthly contribution will be automatically charged to your payment method of choice each month. Contact us to change or cancel your contribution at any time.
Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match charitable contributions or volunteer hours made by their employees. To find out if your company has a matching gift policy, you can check on our search portal here or reach out to your company’s HR department. By submitting a matching gift request through your company, you can double or sometimes even triple your support. Once we receive the matching funds from your employer, we will credit that additional contribution to the participant and the charity swim that received your original donation.
Donate in honor of a loved one to celebrate a birthday, anniversary or other special occasion, or remember someone special with a gift to Swim Across America in their memory.
You may make a donation online and use the field labeled 'Donor's name as you would like it to appear to the public' to list the name of the individual you would like to recognize with your gift. Please email us with the individual's name and contact information for their family so that we may send them a note recognizing your support.
If you prefer to make your donation via check, please include a note with the name of the individual you are donating in memory or honor of and the contact information for the family or friends you would like notified, so that we may send them note.
Incorporating Swim Across America into your estate, will, life insurance, living trust, retirement plan or donor-advised fund is a powerful (and perhaps tax free) way to support cancer research. Gifts of any size make a difference — and can benefit you, too. Here are just a few of the many ways you can support us through non-cash gifts. We look forward to helping you make a plan that fits your goals and are able to answer any questions you or your advisors might have.
Wills, Life Insurance and Trusts
Including Swim Across America in your will, life insurance or living trust is an easy way to make a lasting difference without affecting your income during your lifetime. You can choose to leave Swim Across America a specific amount or percentage, or the balance remaining after distributions have been made to other beneficiaries.
Retirement Plans & Bank Accounts
You may leave part or all of the balance of your IRA, 401(k) or other financial account to Swim Across America — all you have to do is submit a form to your plan administrator naming us as a beneficiary. We’ll receive the assets tax-free; you’ll still be able to take withdrawals and modify your beneficiaries if your family’s needs change during your lifetime.
If you’re at least 72 years old, you can also make tax-free gifts to Swim Across America of up to $100,000 from your traditional or Roth IRA. Your donation will count toward your minimum required distribution.
Once you transfer stocks, bonds or mutual fund shares to Swim Across America, we’ll sell the securities and use the proceeds and credit to your fundraising. You’ll receive a tax deduction and know your gift is making a difference. Contact us for help making the transfer.
If you have a donor advised-fund, we can work with your broker to direct gifts to support Swim Across America; you can also name us as a remainder beneficiary of your fund.
