What is WaveMakers?

A WaveMaker is a champion who has given so much to help our ‘Making Waves to Fight Cancer’ cause with Swim Across America. Because of WaveMakers, we’ve made grants that have led to new cures and treatments such as immunotherapy. Not every story, though, has a happy ending. With the WaveMakers docuseries, we tell the stories of survivors, oncologists, Olympians and those who we are swimming in honor of. Learn more about the Swim Across America mission here.

What is John Driskell Hopkins' relationship to Swim Across America?

Hopkins is a grammy winning, founding (and current) member of the Zac Brown Band. Hopkins family is close with the Bunke family (profiled in Episode 1). Hopkins was inspired to pen and record I’ll Take You Home that is the theme song for WaveMakers. Hopkins also lends his voice to WaveMakers. I’ll Take You Home is available on Spotify, Apple Music, SiriusXM and other platforms. A portion of each download is donated to Swim Across America.
