I am challenging myself by increasing the duration of my swim this year to 1 mile in the Atlanta Open Water Swim, and raising as much money to fight childhood cancer as I can.
It is totally out of my comfort zone to solicit contributions of any kind, but this cause is particulary important to me. When I swam last year, I was surrounded by youngsters who had marked their bodies with the names of people they were remembering. Just being around these young commited swimmers made me realize that we were swimming for a common goal to ensure more children had a chance to enjoy their youth. If possible, please support me by sponsoring my swim and making a gift to Swim Across America. The money you give will go towards local cancer research, prevention and treatment and will make an impact in the fight to find a cure.
