TEAM KPMG ATL | SAA - Rik Parker
There isn't anything more personal than an illness, especially when it makes us feel vulnerable and powerless to potential outcomes. In our lifetime, 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer. It is a staggering statistic that is almost unfathomable with the advances of modern technology and healthcare. I joined the Swim Across America community so that, together, we can change the future of the fight against cancer and give patients and their loved ones hope.
Making this year a little different, I am hoping to put a little extra push in the drive to donate. I have been growing my hair since the beginning of the pandemic, more than 26 months and many inches past my shoulders. Many of my colleagues, family, and friends would like to see the ponytail make its way out the door, and I'd like to help. If you can help me reach $5,000 in donations, I will match this amount and donate my hair to an organization who will provide it to cancer patients in need.
Who am I kidding? I'm going to do this anyway, but you can help speed up the process. If you are able, please support me by making a gift today.
The researchers we are funding are in our community and are the next generation of cancer pioneers. Without Swim Across America early stage funding, they are not able to conduct trials that can lead to breakthroughs that can save lives. Thank you for helping make an impact in the fight to find a cure! I look forward to seeing your names in my donor roll and want you to know how deeply I appreciate your support.
