Welcome to Team Keren at Swim Across America Atlanta! We are friends, neighbors, family members, old swimmer people, new swimmer people, never swimmer people – all united with the common goal of Fighting Cancer. 

Our team is inspired by our namesake Keren, a fierce warrior and a 2-time childhood cancer fighter, which resulted in a below-the-knee amputee for rhabomyosarcoma in 2018 and a partial scapulectomy (removal of half of her shoulder blade) for osteosarcoma in 2022. Keren is not only our inspiration, she is also a teammate and will be swimming the 1-mile open water distance this year.

Our team has grown to include members who honor their nephew battling Ewing’s Sarcoma, members who are cancer warriors and survivors themselves, and all of us who have friends and family members who fought and continue to fight.

Your contributions have an immediate and meaningful impact. Each SAA charity swim is directly connected to a local beneficiary. Here in Atlanta, our fundraising supports childhood cancer researchers at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Cancer Center, the next generation of cancer pioneers. Their essential research leads to breakthroughs that can save lives. Thank you for helping make an impact in the fight to find a cure!

If you would like to swim in-person, but it feels like a stretch, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Abby; she is happy to help with a training plan, words of confidence, and can help pair you with an Angel Swimmer for the day of the event.

Founded in 1987, Swim Across America has hosted charity swims with one goal: to raise money for innovative cancer research that would lead to breakthrough treatments and therapies. Since then, Swim Across America has raised over $100M to fund the next generation of pioneers in oncology and cancer-support care.
