Baltimore Open Water Swim

Team Sasquatch

Welcome to Team Sasquatch! I (Christina) am new to this team, as it was originally a team started by some friends a couple years back for bike races. One of the members of that team, Dennis, became a new friend of mine as one of my dearest friends from graduate school, Alex, began to date him. Several months back, however, Dennis was diagnosed with Acute lymphoblastic leukemia and has been receiving treatment from John's Hopkins ever since. Having participated in SAA Baltimore in 2016 (with Alex as a enthusiastic cheerleader), with plans to do it again, and knowing where the funds from this great event went, I approached Alex about participating specifically with Dennis in mind. Little did I know that this Team Sasquatch existed and that one of the other members was a swimmer too! A few chats (and a few epic swimsuit designs) later, Team Sasquatch, Swimming Edition, was born!

All of us participating in this team, through both swimming and cheerleading, have a connection to this disease. For me it has always been personal, but this year seems more special as I have seen first hand what John's Hopkins can do for a person. Please consider donating to any of our team members to help fight back!

In our lifetime, 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer. We joined the SAA community so that, together, we can change that. We are challenging ourselves by swimming in the Baltimore Open Water Swim and raising as much money to fight cancer as we can. Please support us by sponsoring our swim and making a gift. The money you give will go towards cancer research, prevention and treatment and will make an impact in the fight to find a cure. Thank you for your generosity and may it lead to a cancer-free world!

You can make a credit card donation by clicking on one of the members of our team below, or send a check to Swim Across America - Baltimore, c/o Meadowbrook Swim Club, PO Box 10493, Baltimore, MD 21209.
