Cancer. It's an intimidating diagnosis, and this year it hit close to home. George is a very good friend of mine and he's been in treatment for the entire past year. In February he underwent stem cell transplant, and I went to visit him a few times in the hospital. I got to witness first hand the state of the art facilities we have in Boston and the incredible care he received from the entire staff. Knowing that the money I help raise in this event goes directly to cancer treatment and research right here in Boston is a huge motivator for me every year.
I joined the Swim Across America community eleven years ago to do whatever I could to make a difference in the fight against this disease. I am swimming in the Boston Harbor Swim and raising as much money to fight cancer as I can. Please support me by sponsoring my swim and making a gift. The money you give will go towards cancer research, prevention and treatment and will make an impact in the fight to find a cure. Thank you for your generosity and may it lead to a cancer-free world!
This year, I swim for George.
