Making Waves to Fight Cancer 2022
I hope this finds you and your family safe and well. As Board Chair of Swim Across America, I am humbled and proud to be a part of this impactful organization. I am lucky to have the opportunity to visit many of the doctors and cancer centers we support and know we are making a difference. We kicked out season off in South Florida at the beginning of April and the enthusiasm and passion of the people swimming and volunteering was palpable. I am looking forward to returning to the Boston Harbor on August 6th to support the incredible research and clinical trials we fund at Dana Farber and MGH.
I swim each year to honor and remember my friends who have battled and are battling cancer and to honor their loving families. Each year I pray to not know any new friends that have been diagnosed with this terrible disease, but unfortunately this is never the case. This year I am swimming to honor my Mom, Aunt Susie, Ady, Leon, Simon, Rick, Ben, and Amy. I am also swimming in memory of my dear friend and swimming buddy, Eddie, who loved swimming in the Boston Harbor for Swim Across America.
I joined the SAA community so that, together, we can change the future for these dear friends and many more. The money you give will go towards cancer research, prevention and treatment and will make an impact in the fight to find a cure. Thank you for your generosity and may it lead to a cancer-free world!
