Dear Friends and Family,
It is time to swim!!
What: Once again, I will join approx. 80 swimmers of all ages and ability levels - from recreational to Masters and former Olympians - to complete a 22-mile relay in the Boston Harbor and raise money for cancer research through SWIM ACROSS AMERICA.
When: Friday, July 12, 2019
Why: It seems cancer never takes a break. This year I am swimming in memory of my Uncle Joe and my cousin, his son, Skip. We are Singleton Strong. They were kind, caring, wonderful men and we miss them every day. I am also swimming in honor of Rick Osterberg, Wendy Gulley, Mark Kroninger and countless others who have faced this dreaded disease.
How: There are three easy ways to get involved:
1) Join my team and sign up to SWIM
2) Help at the event as a VOLUNTEER, or
3) Show your support for the cause and DONATE.
The funds raised through this event will benefit Massachusetts General Hospital for Children and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. They are two terrific beneficiaries and I'm thrilled to give back each and every year. As NIH and other government funds are harder and harder get, non-profits like Swim Across America are desperately needed to fill in the funding gaps. We need to and will find a cure.
Wish me luck and remember that every dollar counts...no gift is too small! I know that you get lots of these requests and already donate generously to many wonderful causes, so I am especially appreciative of any support you can offer. You can sponsor me via by making a credit card donation here or by mailing checks made payable to Swim Across America to me at 30 Bullard St. Walpole, MA 02081
Thank you in advance and have a great summer!
