Why support our swim?
To give kids with cancer a better chance at a quality life.
On April 28, we will join Team Brookline in the Boston Team Relay Challenge to raise funds for childhood cancer survivorship programs.
Survival rates for childhood cancers have increased dramatically in recent decades. But due to the toxicity of those treatments, the cost of survivorship is sometimes high. Survivors of childhood cancers often face long-term challenges, including higher risk of second cancers, heart disease, and various cognitive and psychological concerns. The money raised during our swim will support research into improved treatments with reduced toxicity and programs to help cancer survivors address long-term effects.
This is the sixth year I will captain a team in the Team Relay Challenge - a two-hour relay swim at the Harvard pool. Jordan, Hayden and I swim in honor of our friends who are survivors of childhood cancer. We are grateful to have them in our lives, and we want them to have the same hopes for a vibrant life ahead that other children enjoy.
Thank you for your support!
