In our lifetime, 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer. I joined the SAA community so that, together, we can change that. I am challenging myself by swimming in the Boston Team Relay Challenge and raising as much money to fight cancer as I can. Please support me by sponsoring my swim and making a gift. The money you give will go towards cancer research, prevention and treatment and will make an impact in the fight to find a cure. Thank you for your generosity and may it lead to a cancer-free world!
I've been trying to reflect about my personal relationship with cancer, and my immediate interaction had to be when my Mom developed a melanoma. While she was lucky enough to catch it early and get it surgically removed, the impact, like it does with many families who have gone through the horrible diagnosis, changed her and my life forever. Other loved ones in my life have fought this internal battle, and live with the memories and battle scars but tend not to reveal their scars whether they be internal or extrernal. I'm grateful for the groundbreaking medical procedures that have evolutionized how we treat cancer, and want to limit cancer's effects to just a bad memories. I hope my generation will live to see a cancer-free world, and I would greatly appreicate any help making this a reality!
