Dear Family and Friends,
In a time filled with so much uncertainty, I am grateful to be guided by a purpose. For the past ten years, I have jumped off a boat into the cool and invigorating waters arround Boston Harbor as part of a Swim Across America 22-mile relay team to help raise money for cancer research, prevention, and patient care at the Perini Quality of Life Clinic at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and at Mass General Hospital for Children Cancer Center. The exciting news this year is that Swim Across America has adopted a new format since we can’t come together for an open water swim and YOU can all actively participate in our efforts!
Instead of eluding great white sharks and lion’s mane jellyfish in Boston Harbor, I am taking part in the Swim Across America: Coast to Coast challenge and will be logging activity miles to help SAA Boston travel virtually across America. If you are able, please consider supporting me by making a donation on my personal fundraising page or if YOU would like to log YOUR OWN activity miles (walking, running, biking, rowing, swimming, hiking, jumping ......) until Labor Day, September 7, 2020 and receive some great SAA merchandise, go to the bottom of this page and register with Team Goldman and Friends. We would love to have you as a team member! Each registration and donation received adds another mile to our journey. We can all have some fun, keep in shape, and keep focused on our goal of making it to California!
As most of you know, I participate passionately in Swim Across America in memory of my beautiful big brother Jeff - rarely a day goes by that I don't feel his presence, especially when I am in the water. I also participate in memory of my wonderful friends Tom Regan, Ed Colbert, Michelle Shatford, sister-in-law Patti Welch, and brother-in-law Larry Finn-Welch. All of these family members and friends displayed inner strength and compassion for others during their journeys with cancer giving me a clearer understanding of the meaning of life.
With this strong sense of purpose and commitment to help fund cancer research, we can all improve or save the lives of so many of those we care for who have been touched this disease
Thank you all so much. With much love.
