2022 Boston Open Water Swim

Team Chum

Team Chum was started in 2010. This will be our 10th year swimming together. The team was originally set up to honor Pat Lucey, mother of Brian, Dennis and Kevin, who have participated for many years along with others, to support the cause and to honor their own loved ones. Swimming has always been a large part of their lives, so the event was very fitting.

Sadly, this year the Lucey boys lost their father, Bernie to brain cancer. Both Pat & Bernie received treatment from MGH and Dana Farber, which have been a direct benefactor of SAA Funds over the ten years.

In the last ten years, Team Chum has raised over $130,000, and this year the team goal will be to push that past $150,000. Please help us achieve this goal for a very important cause that touches so many.

If you are able, please support us by making a gift. The researchers we are funding are in our community and are the next generation of cancer pioneers. Without Swim Across America early-stage funding, they cannot conduct trials that can lead to breakthroughs that can save lives. Thank you for helping make an impact in the fight to find a cure!

You can donate via the Team page or you can donate to an individual member of the team that you may be close with.
