Don Baker's Swim to End Cancer
Friends and Colleagues,
I am disappointed that circumstances dictate I can’t represent you in our Swim Across America charity swim this year in Charlotte.
However, I pledge to take action to get healthier and continue supporting Swim Across America, a cause dear to all of us at Paddock, and which supports cancer research. I hope you will consider joining me. In August, I:
1. Commit to follow a clear 300 min per week exercise plan that includes aerobic and resistance training—My goal is to swim 12 miles and walk 40 miles in the month of August. Regular exercise helps build your immune system and strengthens your body.
2. Commit to eat healthier, limiting food and drink with excessive sugar and preservatives. WHY-- Reducing your sugar and alcohol consumption can strengthen your immune system 30 to 50%. Cancer feeds on sugar and a weakened immune system makes you more vulnerable to diseases.
3. Commit to 8 hours of sleep a night. WHY—Our sleep is crucial to maintaining a healthy immune system and allows the body to heal and fight off disease.
4. Commit to adding a green drink to breakfast to provide my body with the needed nutrients to build a strong body and immune system.
The best personal defense against cancer and other diseases is a healthy immune system. I intend to follow the plan so I can support my family, business partners and friends. If you will commit to any part of the plan, please let me know. I want to encourage you.
Many of you have supported Swim Across America. Thank you. Team Paddock has granted $120,000 the past three years that has funded the hematology and pediatric sarcoma research programs at Levine Cancer Institute.
Our goal is to raise $30,000 this year. I will personally match any donations you make with a contribution.
Please join me or make a donation.
Thanks for Caring!
