Welcome to My Personal Page
In our lifetime, 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer. I joined the Swim Across America community so that, together, we can change that.
Several days a week, I swim with an amazing group of people at Mecklenburg Swim Association who have embraced the goal of Swim Across America in honor of our teammate Brian Miller. SAA raises funds for cancer-curing research and clinical trials. Locally, the proceeds raised by the Charlotte swim go to Levine Cancer Institute.
Like many of my teammates, I have been impacted by cancer, as both of my parents have had cancer diagnoses. On October 3, I'll be thinking specifically of my mom as I swim 2 miles on the sunny shores of Lake Wylie at Camp Thunderbird with my 16-year old daughter, Maggie. For me, it will be a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the life of a very special woman with another special young woman.
If you are able, please support me by making a gift. The researchers we are funding are in our community and are the next generation of cancer pioneers. Without Swim Across America early stage funding, they are not able to conduct trials that can lead to breakthroughs that can save lives. Thank you for helping make an impact in the fight to find a cure!
