The need for cancer research is great, but so is Swim Across America's responsibility to keep its swimmers, volunteers, and spectators safe. As a result, SAA made the difficult decision to cancel the open-water and pool events for 2020. While we cannot be together in person this year, cancer doesn't stop, so neither will we.
In lieu of the open water swim, I am participating in Charlotte's Coast to Coast virtual challenge to maintain the mission of raising money for cancer research at Levine Children's and Levine Cancer Institute. The virtual event will allow us to expand beyond open water swimmers to any and all fitness enthusiasts.
This season I will be walking, swimming and biking and logging my miles. If you are able, please support me by making a gift, or better yet, contribute by joining the challenge! The researchers we are funding are in our community are the next generation of cancer pioneers. Without the early-stage funding from Swim Across America, they are not able to conduct trials that lead to breakthroughs that save lives. Thank you for helping make an impact in the fight to find a cure!
