Thank you for visiting my Swim Across America Page!  I am so very excited to be part of this event, for so many reasons.  Please read on to hear more.

39.5 percent of men and women will be diagnosed with cancer in our lifetime.  Not one of us goes untouched by it.  In my lifetime I have watched countless friends and family members battle cancer.  My grandparents both lost their battles to cancer when I was young and 5 years ago my mom and college best friend battled breast cancer at the same time!  Most recently, a close family friend's father passed away from cancer and a sweet little 4th grade girl in my daughter's class posts about her battle with cancer.  I am so proud of them and the the million others that battle cancer every single day.  I am raising money to help find a cure!  All proceeds of this swim go to Cancer Research - and much of it right here in Charlotte.

This year will be a family event.  My daughter (and swimmer!) Ava, will either be swimming (still trying to talk her into it - as open water is a challenge) or volunteering at the event.  I am looking forward to accomplishing this again this year. Please help me make a difference by donating to this very awesome event!
