Karen's swim to crush cancer
For the second time in seven years, I am swimming with Swim Across America in Chicago because I believe in their mission and want to help give more families hope. Since my last swim in 2016, I have lost my mother to lung cancer as well as multiple friends and colleagues. Many more friends and family members are currently battling cancer, many of them beating the odds and having a better quality of life while in treatment than they would have even just a few years ago. This is possible because of financial resources backing critical research. The statistics speak to the urgency of this research: One in five people ends up with a cancer diagnosis.
Founded in 1987, Swim Across America hosts fundraising swims with one goal: to raise money for innovative cancer research that would lead to breakthrough treatments and therapies. Since then, Swim Across America has raised over $100M to fund the next generation of pioneers in oncology and cancer-support care.
If you are able, please support me by making a donation to help me reach my fundraising goal. Any amount is appreciated.
Thank you for helping me #MakeWavesToFightCancer.
