Welcome to My Personal Page
Hello!
Did you know that in our lifetime, 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer. I joined the Swim Across America community so that, together, we can change that.
January 24th of 2024 we lost our beautiful, wonderful, and truly special, Donna Heyer. Donna was diagnosed on November 13th of 2023 with an inoperable glioblastoma which crippled her almost immediately.
My DEAR Aunt and God Mother to our daughter, Hailey.
This will be my 5th swim for SAA Chicago and this one is dedicated to DONNA.
Cancer has impacted my family and many close friends for most of my life.
I am certain that many of you have experienced the same pain, heart ache, fear, and overwhelming grief that this disease brings with it.
My husband, Bill, has just relapsed after being diagnosed with AML (acute myeloid leukemia) on 12-15-20. After a stem cell transplant on 5-3-21, we are back awaiting next steps in his treatment. We have too many family and friends that are currently battling as well.
We have lost so many close friends and family just recently and it seems that over the years the number of cancer patients has sky rocketed.
If you are able, please support me by making a gift. The researchers we are funding are in our community and are the next generation of cancer pioneers. Without Swim Across America early stage funding, they are not able to conduct trials that can lead to breakthroughs that can save lives. Thank you for helping make an impact in the fight to find a cure!
