Robyn Starnes - Making Waves to Fight Cancer!
Thanks for checking out my page!
If you don't know, I was diagnosed with cancer in 2014. While I was lucky enough to have an easily treatable form of thyroid cancer, not everyone else is so lucky. Since 2015, I've looked for ways to raise money for cancer research...and avoid the health challenges that often come with no longer having a thyroid gland. I'm looking at you, metabolism thief!
Swim Across America is helping me do both! I've not participated in an open water swim in about 30 years, so I would greatly appreciate your support as I attempt to swim an open water mile at Lake Ray Hubbard on September 24th. No fins, no flip turns, no breaks. Whew....I'm tired just thinking about it!
If you are able, please support me by making a gift. The researchers we are funding are in our community and are the next generation of cancer pioneers. Without Swim Across America early stage funding, the Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center at BaylorScott&White is not able to conduct trials that can lead to breakthroughs that can save lives. Thank you for helping make an impact in the fight to find a cure!
Fun Fact: the date of this swim is my EIGHT-YEAR anniversary of beating cancer.
