Welcome to Jim Farmer's (The Farmer) Personal Page
I started making a push earlier this year to help remember our loved ones that were fighting, and have fought, cancer and asking people to donate to any swimmer in the program... while I would love your donation, your support as a swimmer, donor, volunteer, or cheerleader will help fight cancer!
Thank you for your support and help in fighting cancer and blood disorders in children during our 2022 swim by funding critical cancer research here in Colorado! I hope our 2023 team will raise even more research funds than our prior swims.
Why I swim....
For me personally, - no more Ken's! (see Ken's story at innernews.org)
Also, I swim in honor of my grandfather, dad, uncle, aunt, friends, and my brother Ken, as they all died of cancer. In addition, my friend and assistant fire chief, and SF or Denver heart, Troy (Standing on an EA degree) passed away February of 2021... never having seen his granddaughter.
There are not many of us that have not been touched by cancer in our families... our swimming, and your help, could help save lives... it just takes a donation. You make the difference! You could help keep give a child a gift of a cure, or at least more time with their families.
Thank you.

About Ken....
One reason I am pushing this program early this year, is to honor my brother Ken. Ken never made it to my age (64) and his anniversary of his birth was June 10th (and this year would have been his 70th birthday) and he passed away at 61. I am asking your support in honoring, a firefighter, an EMT, a wildland (Red Card) firefighter, airport firefighter, a ski patroller, a dad, a camping buddy, adventurer, and my goofball brother that I will always miss. He was one of the first to participate in immunotherapy research at the University of Colorado (an alumni of CU-Denver) Health Sciences and he fought his five (5) cancers for nearly 10 years when he finally lost his battle... and yet his legacy is a treatment, that while it did not save his life - his was prolonged, and the critical research is now helping impacting thousands of others fighting cancer!
Also remember these facts...
1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer. I joined the Swim Across America community so that, together, we can change that.
If you are able, please support me by making a gift. The researchers we are funding are in our community and are the next generation of cancer pioneers. Without Swim Across America early stage funding, they are not able to conduct trials that can lead to breakthroughs that can save lives. Thank you for helping make an impact in the fight to find a cure!
