In our lifetime, 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer.  Unfortunately, many will be diagnosed early when they are children and just learning about their place in the world and all the opportunities that exist in their future.  I joined the Swim Across America community so that, together, we can change that.  My young friend Markus is a testament to how to turn a negative into a positive, thanks to the advances in cancer research and the therapies developed due to funds donated by individuals and businesses.
