Money raised stays here in Colorado!

SAA Denver funds benefit two research projects at the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children's Hospital Colorado. The acute myeloid leukemia (AML) research project, led by Dr. Amanda Winters, will bring new therapies into Phase 1 clinical trials for pediatric leukemia and help define better methods to detect leukemia cells in patients. The osteosarcoma research project, led by Drs. Kelly Faulk and Carrye Cost, will build upon the results of a canine combination trial and assess the safety and tolerability of a novel combination of drugs in pediatric and young adult osteosarcoma patients.

DID YOU KNOW:

-every 15 minutes 50 Americans are diagnosed with cancer?

-an estimated 40% of Americans will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in their lifetime?

-the National Cancer Institute funding for investigative research and clinical trials has decreased 25% in the past 10 years. The NCI funds less than 15% of grant applications.  We help fill the funding void by providing grants so doctors can conduct clinical trials and research that can lead to breakthroughs in detection and treatment.

The women of ETC work out together and  are ready to swim and volunteer at the Denver Open water swim!  Thank you for supporting our efforts
