Welcome to Peter's Personal Page
Unfortunately, more friends are fighting their own personal battles with cancer, which means the battle is not over for me to raise funds to help find a cure. I am swimming for my twelfth consecutive year in their honor on Saturday, June 25th for Swim Across America - Fairfield County. My daughter Kellen will be joining me on Team Julian for her eleventh-year swimming in this event.
This year I am swimming in honor of my friends Vicki Lewis Nolan, Claudia Kelly, Leslie Schindel Freeland, Dan Burns, and my brother-in-law Allan Gulliver. They have all been battling cancer over this last year and we wish them luck and success in their battles. I am also swimming in memory of Jim Heisler, a great family man and financial advisor from Philadelphia that I have known for many years. His life was cut way too short at age 52 last August due to cancer.
This swim is for the benefit of the Alliance for Cancer Gene Therapy in Stamford, CT which funds some fabulous cancer researchers and scientists around the country. They are making great progress in their research and their results are what is helping to keep others alive today.
I am leading Team Julian once again to continue the legacy of Julian Fraser, a wonderful young man and a close family friend who lost his battle with osteosarcoma in 2017 at age 20. Julian's legacy is being preserved through this team of dedicated friends, swimmers, and fundraisers, and as long as I am able, I will swim and raise money in Julian's memory, and for our family and friends who are fighting the battle, or who have lost the battle with cancer.
Would you please join me in supporting and honoring our friends as we make waves to fight cancer?
In our lifetime, 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer. I joined the Swim Across America community so that, together, we can change that. I am challenging myself by swimming three miles in the Fairfield County Open Water Swim and raising as much money to fight cancer as I can. Please support me by sponsoring my swim and making a gift. The money you give will go towards cancer research, prevention and treatment and will make an impact in the fight to find a cure.
You can make a credit card donation in the link on this page, or you can send a check payable to Swim Across America, PO Box 681, Riverside, CT 06878.
Thank you for your generosity and may it help lead to a cancer-free world!
