I was going to sit out this year, and then two more friends were taken by cancer in 2023. In our lifetime, 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer. I have lost an older brother and two of my very best friends to cancer way before their times. I joined the Swim Across America community so that, together, perhaps we can change that fate for others in the future.
