Fairfield County Open Water Swim

Kicking Cancer for Karen, Chris and Friends

TEN year Celebration Swim for Team Kicking Cancer for Karen, Chris & Friends.

The Power of 10 Years where YOU made a difference in countless peoples lives - yesterday, today and tomorrow. By being part of our team the first year, five years ago and today - you support the future of cancer research.

To date, your team has raised close to $250,000.

Swimmers, Kayakers, Land Volunteers, Fundraisers and Shorline Cheerleaders. We need you.

Can you join the team this very special 10th Anniversary year? We hope so.

Our members sign up, rev up their fundraising and show up to swim, year after year.

Thank you for all you have done - from myself, Karen, Kristine & Caroline. I am not sure we knew the first year how Swim Across America would become such an important part of our lives.

Long Island Sound is our stage to raise money for cancer research. Along with my daughters Kristine and Caroline and our fellow teammates, we look forward to raising money and awareness for the cancer research that SAA is conducting in the finest institutions across the country.

This year we swim in celebration of our friends Ann, AnnBeth, Jenn, Joyce and Tom who show amazing strength and admirable courage! And JP Kealy - you continue to inspire us! And celebrate my brother-in-law Scott who has hurdled and beat cancer. I celebrate my wife Karen who is 9+ years cancer free.

We have lost too many to cancer - dear Charlotte; who faced cancer with the biggest smile and optimism, Mike, my childhood friend Toms' younger brother who passed away last year after a five-year battle with his cancer, my brother Chris, mother-in-law Bernice, friend Toni and Coach Joan. And we swim in memory of Pete's father Eric and Coach Kelly.

We have all been touched by cancer in our lives. It is a horrible disease that with your help we can fund research to find better treatment options, prevention and a cure.

Thank you for your support. Donate what you can at the link here above. All donations to this most important cause are appreciated. And if you have a few hours the morning of June 22nd, come down to the swim.

Be a part of another magical morning. Reunite with old friends and make new ones.

See you in the Sound!

Thank you,

In our lifetime, 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer. We joined the SAA community so that, together, we can change that. We are challenging ourselves by swimming in the Greenwich Open Water Swim and raising as much money to fight cancer as we can. Please support us by sponsoring our swim and making a gift. The money you give will go towards cancer research, prevention and treatment and will make an impact in the fight to find a cure.  Thank you for your generosity and may it lead to a cancer-free world!

You can make a credit card donation by clicking on one of the members of our team below, or send a check made out to Swim Across America,  c/o Jim O'Brien, 41 Freshwater Lane, Wilton CT 06897
